Thank you to everyone who has shared feedback over coffee, attended our events, tweeted about us, or dropped a simple email with your wishlist for DataHero. 2014 has been a busy, productive and, at times, crazy year.
This year, alone, we released twelve new connections, rolled out data combines, tons of new chart types, dashboards, added to our growing team, and managed to let loose every now and then in between those releases. Thanks to feedback from our beta testers, loyal customers and partners, we’ve been able to sharpen our focus, enhance the product and overall provide a better customer experience. That’s any startup’s dream, right?
Check out just some of the things DataHero has done!
Product Improvements
It was a big year for DataHero feature announcements. We released data combines, dashboards, new chart types and a myriad of other awesome features that you can check out on our blog.
We made lots of progress in DataHero’s product design as well, working to achieve a really smooth analysis experience for all our users. Our goal is pretty simple – to empower everyone, even the non-analysts, to get answers from their data. To this end, we redesigned our homepage and parts of the charts page to make visualizing data as easy as possible. Interested in our design philosophy? We’ve got lots to say about it here.
New Connections and DataHero in The News
With twelve new connections added in 2014, we’ve been able to expand our ever-growing hub of data analysis and a safe place from Excel pivot tables. Adding these new options for connections ensures that our users, no matter where they store their data or what kind of answers they need, can have one place to go for their data analysis.
New connections include:
Thanks to all the new features, connections and progress in self-service BI, we were featured quite a bit in the news as well. We won the Startup Showcase at the Strata Conference in February, then just kept up the steam from there. We were featured in VentureBeat, Gigaom, Huffington Post and were highlighted in an Ovum report on user-centric analytics for the cloud world.
In Our Spare Time
2014 wasn’t all about releasing new features, building a really smooth customer experience and news articles though. We managed to make some time to switch locations and gather to drink beer and eat lots of food.
We christened a new office:
We ate…a lot:
We had meetups about creating awesome data products and analyzed our beer tastes:
We celebrated three years of DataHero with sushi:
And we tried our best to bring out the hero in everyone:
We want to thank our community for the tweets, reviews, shout outs and general feedback. It’s all helped us to improve DataHero and so is invaluable to us.
@philsimon called us “far more intuitive and user-friendly than Google Docs #dataviz”. While @deilicke said about our user interface, “glad to see something really good and fresh.” @Claudia_Imhoff said “Just saw my wow moment with @DataHero. Combining data easy to do but more important – recommendation immediately showing visualizations!” We couldn’t agree more guys, and we’re grateful for our community’s support.
We’re excited to see what 2015 brings and we’ll see you in the new year.
