MixpanelAndDataHero

Today, we’re very excited to announce a new partnership with Mixpanel, the leading web and mobile analytics platform. Now you can dig deeper into your Mixpanel events data with DataHero and analyze events over time, find relationships between events and ultimately discover how customers are using your site. DataHero automatically categorizes your data, analyzes it for patterns, and suggests the most relevant charts to you. If you’re interested in more than funnels and timeline visualizations, import your Mixpanel data directly into DataHero and create any type of graph you’d like. Then, add it to a dashboard and keep that data automatically updated as your event data changes.

By connecting DataHero to your Mixpanel account you can answer questions like:

  • How do properties associated with my users change over time?
  • What trends are there in activities on my site?
  • How do custom segments of users contribute to overall actions?

After you’ve signed up for your free DataHero account, connect DataHero to your Mixpanel account then import the People or Event report to get started. Here are a few examples of the questions you can explore.

Properties by Day of the Week

The following chart is from the People report, that includes properties set up in Mixpanel that describe your users. In the example below, we see trends in connecting a service:

This information provides insight into how changes you make in the app are affecting your users. For example, is there something different that happened in September that led to the highest number of connections? This will point you in the right direction for product development.

Overall User Engagement

A metric like entering the application or logging in can tell us overall user engagement. The chart below shows how engagement has grown by month:

A high-level metric like this connects also to marketing efforts like nurture campaigns, or even new sign ups from your sales funnel. To merge your marketing data with your in-app data check out DataHero’s Combines.

Custom Segmentation

By simply dragging on an element like “Connected to Salesforce” we can view a chart like the one we see below that displays daily users by operating system, only for those users who are connected to Salesforce.

This custom segmentation allows us to better understand how cohorts of users behave, and how to optimize the site for these use cases.

DataHero helps you unmask the answers in your data. There’s nothing to download or install. Simply create an account and connect to the data services you use everyday (like Salesforce, Stripe, MailChimp, Dropbox and Box). DataHero automatically decodes your data and shows you the answers you need through dynamic visualizations.
