MandrillAndDataHero

DataHero is expanding our email analytics options with our newest integration partner, Mandrill, the fastest transactional email service.  Go beyond your current Mandrill dashboard with DataHero and customize time groupings for any campaign by click or open, easily visualize multiple campaigns’ engagement over time, and chart your URL tracking. DataHero automatically categorizes your data, analyzes it for patterns, and suggests the most relevant charts to you.

By connecting DataHero to your Mandrill account you can answer questions like:

  • How have my transactional emails changed over time by tag?
  • What times of the day are my users most engaged in my emails?
  • What are the most popular URLs?

After you’ve signed up for your free DataHero account, connect DataHero to your Mandrill account to get started getting insights into your transactional campaigns. Following are a few examples of the questions you can explore.

Tag Trends

Step 1: Import the Detailed Activity (30 Days) Report

Step 2: Click Create A New Chart

Step 3: Drag on the following attributes:

  • Date
  • Tags
  • Opens

Step 4: Click the “Start Editing Chart” button to see the details of your chart

Step 5: Under the Date attribute, click the dropdown and select “Week”

DataHero automatically creates the best chart for you based on patterns in your data, in this case a stacked column chart. Now you can easily compare opens across different tags for the past month.

Using this chart as your foundation, you can start customizing your analysis. For example, change the time grouping to reflect opens by day or even hour. You can also select which Tags you’d like displayed in the left hand rail.

Step 5: Click “Start Editing Chart” right above your data attributes in the left rail and under “Clicks” click Sort to ensure that the most clicked links are at the top of the chart.

Top URLs are displayed ranked by number of clicks, displaying the content your users find most valuable.

These are just some of the questions you can answer about your transactional email campaigns using DataHero and Mandrill. You can also analyze campaigns by email client or subject, compare bounces, unsubscribes and rejects, and more.
